Things were not the same...

Every year goes by like a rollercoaster ride.  The workflow wanes, then attacks us by surprise. Health issues come in from nowhere. Dream jobs appear suddenly… You get the picture.

But 2017 was a bit different...

ConVTI was brought to life. A pioneering digital event that proved remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) a reality. We showcased two RSI platforms – Kudo and Headvox – with great success. Márcia Nabrzecki and I planned it as a solution for our home- or office-bound colleagues who needed an opportunity to earn Continuing Education Points to maintain their credentials. We did it. Leaders in the international T&I community

joined forces with us and we delivered a first-class program to individuals in 18 countries, in three languages. You can learn more about it here.

And there were other professional highlights:

After presenting at the Brazilian association of translators and interpreters, ABRATES, last year, I joined their mentorship program – and it has been a great experience. The hosts of Translators on Air had me over as a guest.
I became Chair of the Translation and Interpretation Advisory Committee of Miami Dade College InterAmerican Campus.Tess Whitty also invited me to speak on her online program Marketing Tips for Translators and we had a blast. Last October, the Portuguese Language Division of ATA interviewed Márcia and me about ConVTI, as the inaugural piece for their vlog. And after a few years as contributor and Editor of The NAJIT Observer, I was invited to co-chair NAJIT’s PR Committee, and in that capacity, I had the honor of representing NAJIT at De La Mora’s Finding the Parallels, the second installment

of the event we co-organized in 2013.

I want to celebrate 2017 for all the challenges I survived and for the amazing rewards collected.

That all goes with a huge Thank You to my amazing clients whose projects made my survival possible.

Here is to an even better 2018.
